About this game
Yapology hides a phrase on the board. It's an ordinary sentence, the kind of thing you'd text a friend, but it's written in slang: words like ngl, lowkey, mid and no cap. Guess one letter at a time. Every copy of that letter turns over.
The ordinary words around the slang are your way in. Even if you've never heard a word, the rest of the sentence usually gives it away. When you solve it, the whole phrase flips into plain English, and each slang word gets a chip that says what it means.
How to play
- Guess a letter. Tap it, or type it. If it's in the phrase, every copy turns over.
- Watch your wrong letters. You get six. A letter that isn't there uses one up, and six wrong letters loses the board.
- Solve it when you're sure. Press Solve it and type the whole phrase. Get it right early and you score more. Get it wrong and it costs one wrong letter.
- See what it means. The phrase turns into plain English. Tap a chip to see one slang word on its own.
Three ways to play
- Daily. One phrase, the same for everyone, new each day. This is the one you share.
- Endless. One phrase after another. Your score keeps adding up until you lose a board.
- Tiles. A letter-tile board. Build words across the grid in ten turns. Any slang word you play, like rizz or ngl, scores double.

Tips
- Start with the common letters. E, T, A, O and S turn over the most tiles.
- Look at the word shapes. A three-letter word on its own is often slang, like ngl or fr. Slang loves short words.
- Some slang has no vowels. wdym, smh and ngl are all consonants, so don't waste every guess on A, E, I, O and U.
- Solve early for more points. Every tile still hidden when you solve is worth double.
How the points work
Every tile a right letter turns over is worth 10 points. When you solve the phrase, every tile that is still hidden is worth 20, so solving early pays. A wrong letter costs no points, but it uses up one of your six. In Endless, the points from each phrase you solve add up into one run. Lose a board and the run starts again from zero, and your best run is kept.
Some of the slang you'll meet
You don't need to know any of these to play. The ordinary words around them are the clues. But here are a few that come up a lot:
- ngl means "not gonna lie". fr means "for real". no cap means "no lie".
- lowkey means "kind of" or "a little bit". mid means just average, nothing special.
- wdym is short for "what do you mean". iykyk is "if you know, you know".
- cooked means in serious trouble, or totally worn out.
- bet means "okay, it's a deal". sus means something seems off.
- slay means doing something really well. aura is your cool factor, counted like points.
- delulu means believing something that isn't true, usually as a joke.
Slang changes fast, so the phrases get new words from time to time. When you solve a phrase, the chips on the card tell you what every slang word in it means.
Tiles, in more detail
Tiles gives you seven letters and a board of fifteen by fifteen squares. Your first word has to cross the star in the middle. After that, every word has to join onto one already on the board. Tap a tile, then tap the square you want it on. Tap a tile you've just placed to take it back. When the word is ready, press Play.
Each letter shows its points in the corner. Rare letters are worth more. Coloured squares double or triple a letter or a whole word. And any slang word you play, like rizz, sus or ngl, scores double on top of that, and pops up with what it means. You get ten turns. Swap trades your whole rack for new letters, but it uses a turn. Use all seven tiles in one word for 30 extra points.

Good to know
Your result copies as a row of green and red squares, one for each letter you guessed, and a link. It never shows the phrase, so it spoils nothing. Whoever opens the link gets the same phrase. No account, no chat, nothing to buy. Your progress saves in your browser.
