About Playpit

Playpit is a small portal of browser games. There are twenty of them right now, they are free, and they run the moment you click — no download, no launcher, no account. It is made by Lamig Software, the studio behind it, and the games are built and published here rather than licensed in from anywhere else.

We make the games ourselves

This is the part we care most about. Playpit hosts no clones and no re-skins. Every game, its name, its artwork, its sound and its code is our own work — or openly licensed material we credit. We are not affiliated with any other games company, and nothing here is a version of somebody else's game. If a Playpit game reminds you of a genre you love, that is on purpose; if it reminds you of a specific game, we have made a mistake and would like to know.

Built for the browser, properly

The games are not videos of games or thin wrappers. Underneath Playpit is a set of engines we wrote ourselves — a voxel engine for the building games, a first-person engine for the shooters and the road-safety games, a real-time-strategy engine, and a 2-D foundation for the puzzle games. They render straight to your graphics card through the browser, which is why a 3-D world can open from a link in a couple of seconds.

What you share is a link, not a lobby

Every game is single-player today. The things you can send someone — a world postcard, a star chart, a battle replay — are links that carry game data and nothing about you. Someone opens the link and the game rebuilds the moment from it.

What we deliberately don't do

How we handle data, ads and analytics is written out in plain language in our privacy policy, and the deal for playing is in the terms.

Say hello

Bug reports, permission to embed a game, or just to tell us what you built — get in touch. Otherwise, go and play something.
