“Not gonna lie, this homework is kind of average.” ngl = not gonna lie, lowkey = kind of, mid = nothing special.
2. “no cap that pizza was bussin”

“Honestly, that pizza was really tasty.” no cap = no lie, bussin = delicious.
3. “bet see you at practice”

“Okay, deal, see you at practice.” bet is a reply that means “sounds good”.
4. “fr she slayed that solo”

“For real, she did that solo really well.” fr = for real, slay = do something brilliantly.
5. “that sequel was so mid”

“That sequel was really average.” mid is the most useful insult in Gen Z slang: not bad, just nothing special.

6. “istg if i fail i’m cooked”

“I swear, if I fail, I’m in serious trouble.” istg = I swear to God, cooked = done for.
7. “wdym you thought it was mid”

“What do you mean, you thought it was average?” wdym = what do you mean. It’s pushback: the person disagrees.
8. “that song lives rent free in my head”

“I can’t stop thinking about that song.” Something rent free is stuck in your head without paying for the space.
9. “he has zero rizz ngl”

“Honestly, he has no charm at all.” rizz = charm, especially when flirting.
10. “the costume understood the assignment”

“The costume was exactly right, and then some.” Understood the assignment means someone did precisely what the moment called for.

11. “tripping on stage was minus aura”

12. “chat is this real”

“Everyone, can you believe this?” chat means talking to the people around you as if they’re a livestream audience.
13. “exams tomorrow time to lock in”

“Exams are tomorrow, time to focus hard.” lock in = concentrate completely.
14. “stop glazing your favorite player”

“Stop praising your favorite player so much.” glazing = over-the-top praise.
15. “iykyk that one lunch table”

“If you know, you know, about that one lunch table.” iykyk marks an inside joke. If you don’t get it, that’s the point.
